We Simplify The Insurance Claim Process
How Storm Damage Insurance Claims Work
How Storm Damage Insurance Claims Work
STEP 1: Storm Damage Inspection
We provide a thorough exterior inspection. If we find storm damage, we document it with photos and determine the extent of repairs needed. After our Inspection, if we find storm damage, we will determine the extent of damage, then we will suggest that you file an Insurance claim for the storm damages.
STEP 2: Working with Insurance Companies
We suggest filing an insurance claim and will be present when the insurance inspector visits your property to review the storm damage with them. We will work with you and your insurance company to try to get all of the damage covered.
Once you file a claim the Inspector will contact you within 24-48 hours to set up an inspection, we will be present at your home, when your insurance adjuster does the inspection, to review the storm damage that we found with them. Most discrepancies occur when the adjuster has not assessed the same amount or type of damage as the contractor. Whether it’s for the roof, gutters, siding, or other exterior damage, we work with the adjuster in finalizing the cost of the repairs and getting your claim paid.
How Insurance Companies Pay Claims
You should receive the first check about a week or so after the adjuster has estimated/approved your damage. This check represents the Actual Cash Value (ACV) which is the cost to repair or replace the damaged property, less depreciation, and your deductible. The age and condition of the property is taken into account when calculating depreciation. The depreciation amount will be paid when all of the work is completed, and an invoice is sent to the insurance company. In most cases, all you will have to pay out-of-pocket is your deductible.
Mortgage Companies
If you have a mortgage on your home, the first check you receive from your insurance company should be made out to you and your mortgage company. The check along with required documents of your mortgage company must be satisfied to clear your check. We assist you with this process, or if desired, complete it for you.
STEP 3: Professional Storm Damage Repair
Once the insurance company and contractor come to an agreement on the scope of work and pricing, we repair the approved storm damage. We handle everything from the roof to the siding and gutters.
